What do you not want in a man?

How are you all doing over here in blogland. I remember saying i have about 33 topics to blog on already but this one is NOT one of them. Yesterday in the evening, I got very frustrated with the men coming on my myspace and leaving annoying messages. I am not that desperate looking for a man on the internet so i decide to add some extra info in my about me section talking about the guys that i dont want.
I am just one of those people that know more of what they dont want but not too much about what i want in a man, although, i am slowly discovering (The only one guy i said i have dated in my previous post has helped me figure out more about the kind of guy i want).
Ok, so here is roughly what i wrote on the about me section, knowing fully well that i am going to get some angry readers, to say the least.

"there are a couple of things that just dont interest me in men including but not limited to men with hair esp. dreads, gold teeth, men without a college degree, men younger than i am, men that are just out there, prospective rappers, men with kids, men that go to jail, men that are irresponsible"

As I spend most of my time here in Iraq working I come accross alot of peoples pages. And I understand how you feel with not trying to meet a tired want to be rappers. That's fine. A man with no job even better. But because a man doesn't have a college degree you won't give him the time of day? Now dear there are many men like myself that does not have a college degree and still make over 100,000 in different fields of work. Did you know in the logistics field you don't need a college degree to be successfull? I just stopping by just to let you know that I feel your page and you may want to give that guy with no college degree a chance he might be the one for you. -Henry

Hi Sexy Looking Henry,
This is great, im glad someone finally took the chance to actually read my info before sending me a message instead of not looking past the pictures. I had to write that stuff out of frustration for all the stupid messages i get everyday. Firstly, i know that there are many people that are successful without a college degree. I might end up with one, theres no saying. What i said might be harsh but in the reality of it, I was raised by education freaks and my culture just wont really tolerate someone without multiple degrees to say the least. I know how my family is and they would ordinarily not allow the relationship to advance without a fight. I have had various discussions with multiple professors and classes in school and some people choose to follow love blindly, well thats fine too. This is something i have tried before and it did not work out. I am not trying to change the man, but he kept promising to go to school but in the end he did not. Plus, someone now had a baby for him later and that was just too much culture shock for me to handle. The second guy without a college degree too would not end up going to school like he said and he ended up being a psycho. Im not saying this would be true in all situations, but if i already have a degree and im in medical school already, with more degrees to come (maybe a MPH, MBA, PhD or all), i at least want a guy with one degree- My dad is in his 60's and he still goes to school despite the fact that he has gazillion degrees and millions of accomplishments. While it might be true that that man without the degree is the one for me, i'm not going through extraneous means to meet that person i.e the internet. Excuse me if you think i'm being to shallow on the subject but everytime i try dating someone without a degree, i end up having a problem with it after a while. So i think i should be true to myself and not string men along, but if i do end up with a guy like that, then its all fine with me. Destiny has a chance. Now let me stop writing because you are looking too sexy in that shirt and i dont want to change my mind already!!! Aloha

I admit I am intrigued but since the possibility of us meeting is nill, I read on your page you dont like men with hair, or dreads, well since I have dreads does that mean that we cant chat? does it make me less intelligent or something, lol just a thought anyway I just wanted to compliment you on your looks, but you probably recieve that all the time so I will just say hi and hopefully if you can look beyond the superficial and are up for some interesting conversation. If that is so i'll be here waiting.

Hey Dearie, I am really a nice person and all, its just that hair and dreads just dont do it for me. For some reason i am not just attracted to men in dreads. Why it is possible that you are the cutest thing to somebody else, I have decided to drop the habit of dating men that i am not attracted to. It does not work for me in the end. And, no i dont there is need to look beyond the superficial in this case. Having dreads does not make you any less intelligent. Theres intelligent men with dreads in my class that i really admire E.g B has very long CLEAN dreads and he is already has a PhD and now he is in school for MD. So no, it does not make you less intelligent. There are women who find dreads extremely sexy, but i am just one of those that dont. Not to say that i cant be your friend.


So my purpose of putting this here is to find out what you people out here in blogland think. What kind of guys would you NOT date. Also i would like to get your reaction about the whole college degree thing. I dont really need anyone to quote Bill Gates for me, a college degree might just be a prerequisite. And also, I'm i asking for too much?

A little intro

So i'm new to this whole blogging thing and i'll try my best to make it worth it. I would not be displaying my identity and there are some things that i might say along the way that people may not appreciate or agree with but i am just sharing my life and my thoughts. I am in no way an avid writer but i will try to pass the message along the best way i can. Right now i am in professional school and i should be studying right now but im just recovering from a fiesty cold.
So a little about me, I like the idea of indulging myself in different activities but actually doing it is another story. So there are a couple of things i would like to do this year and some of them include dating... lots of this, going rock climbing, hanging with friends more often, try to eat breakfast more often, return peoples calls, study with more depth.

The dating part comes from the fact that maybe i have been deprived from dating. Well i think i have only dated one person but everyone else i have been in a relationship with, I have known as friends first and there was not really anything as per going on dates for the purpose of getting to know each other.
So that first person i went on a date with is another story but i would be sure to share that in another post. Trust me, you will love to hear some of my stories. Right now i have ideas for 33 entries already and hopefully, i would get more ideas as time goes on.

About hanging out with friends, i usually feel disconnected from people. I mean, i like to go out and hang out etc but there are certain things that just keep me back. But yeah, i cant tell you now since that is a topic for another blog entry.

I am not too adventurous when it comes to all those extreme sports kind of things but a friend invited me out rock climbing and i decided to do that. Im just one of those people that hate going to six flags et al. And when you go with friends- they sweet talk you into going, they end up forcing you to go on all those rides, ah. Its not just for me, dont you understand, dang. I hate not being in control of some things.

Anyway let me stop rambling at this point and get back to studying. Also i need to subscribe to some of the blogs i have been reading lately. Ah, they are so interesting and i hope i dont get addicted to this thing o. Later sha
